Nigeria prostitutes to declear 3days of free sex if Buhari wins

Nigerian sex workers endorse Buhari

As the 2015 presidential election in Nigeria draws near, Nigerian prostitutes have come out to support General Muhammadu Buhari of APC.
The commercial sex workers in the country under the aegis of the National Association of Nigerian Prostitutes, NANP, have thrown their weight behind the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari.NANP said it would declare a-three day free sex across the country if president Jonathan eventually loses the seat to Gen. Muhammadu Buhari of APC.

A statement signed by the group’s General Secretary, Jessica Elvis noted that NANP was not happy with Jonathan’s government over the way commercial sex workers were being treated in the country since he assumed office as the first citizen.

Recall that the group had in 2013 declared one-week free sex after the Super Eagles defeated Burkina Faso to lift the AFCON trophy after almost 20 years.

It described Jonathan’s government as the worst in the history of Nigeria, saying that it recorded the lowest income during his tenure.

The statement also quoted Elvis as saying that several approaches to the presidency to legalize prostitution were turned down.

Abraham who heads the Nigerian chapter of African Sex Workers Alliance (ASWA) and the Women of Power Initiative (WOPI), led the protests with demonstrators wearing T-shirts screaming “Sex work is work, we need our rights”.

“We are tired of dying in silence; we want to be able to practice our profession with pride like every other person. We want an end to name-calling and stigmatisation. We are sex workers and not asawo [a derogatory Yoruba name for prostitutes]”, She told Aljazeera.

“Sex work is normal work and there are sex workers everywhere under one form of disguise or the other. The government should stop criminalising our work”, she further said.

Backing Abraham’s point, Elvis said for failing to legalize prostitution, the group would not support Jonathan for a second term.
“We sent a proposal to the government in March 2, 2012, almost a year after Jonathan was fully elected as president of Nigeria on the need to legalize prostitution. That was when our late president, Micah Ejoyo was alive, but the presidency rather declared war on us by arresting some members on the street of Abuja.
“Most of them are students who are using the job to pursue their education. We all cannot work in Aso Rock, NNPC or Shell. We don’t rob people. We are using our endowment to fend for ourselves. We deserve to be respected. Enough of this hypocrisy because even Jonathan and his team are not saints.”

Speaking further, the statement as obtained by Daily Post on Friday enjoined all members of the association to come out en mass come February 14 to vote out Jonathan from Aso Rock.

"We are calling on all our members and every Nigerian in particular to join the march. No to Jonathan! Because under Jonathan’s government, we lost over 400 members in the north to the Boko Haram insurgency and we are not ready to lose anybody again. We would be declaring a three-day free sex if God eventually sends Jonathan out of Aso Rock. You can count on us. We did it before and we can do it again. Enough is enough,”

Nigerian women most unfaithful wives in the world?

http://dvsl3w2q45hb8.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/prostitute-2.jpg
By Josephine Agbonkhese

Few weeks ago, a survey surfaced, listing countries with most unfaithful wives in the world. To the chagrin of Nigerian women, the survey conducted by condom manufacturer, Durex, had them topping the list and beating 35 other countries, including Western countries, sampled in the marital infidelity test.

Deported Nigerian prostitutes

Controversy has since continued to trail that judgement, with Nigerian women crying foul. This outcry is understandable though, as these are women popularly reputed for their solemn reverence for religion, more than their counterparts in any part of the world.

“We have more Nigerian women that are faithful to their marriages than other nations. Ours can be attributed to various factors like religion, which has become the standard for most of us, and then tradition.

“Despite our exposure and enlightenment, a typical Nigerian woman still holds firm to the dictates of tradition, either of her background or that of her husband’s. That aside, our men are even too egocentric to allow their wives that liberty. A man can kill any woman suspected of infidelity, whether true or not. It’s seen as a slap on the man’s face and not an emotional slip,” Rosemary Duamlong, an entrepreneur and mother of two argued firmly in defence of Nigerian women when presented with the outcome of Durex’s survey.

The survey claims that regardless of marital status, sexual orientation, or a committed relationship, Nigerian women still in the real sense tend to be unfaithful, giving a 62% prevalence of unfaithfulness, with Thailand following.

Admitting though that some women could be extremely unfaithful, some male folks debunked the percentage put forward by the survey.

“I have been married for 20 years and my wife has not cheated on me. In every way, she has been very faithful even despite my unfaithfulness,” a middle-aged Nigerian who simply identified himself as Monye said.

Another man said of his wife: “While we were still dating, I could say she kept other men, but as soon as she became certain that I was serious about her, she personally dropped them and has since then been more than faithful to me.”

Nigeria is not a society where adultery is treated with impunity, unlike places like Britain where married couples jointly patronize so-called ‘Elite Sex Clubs’ where they have sex with other men and women. Here, family values are cherished and women who cheat do so mostly in secret. Hence, it remains a puzzle how the country managed to top the list of unfaithful wives.

“Nigerian women are generally family-centred and conscious of society approval. Only a few would therefore risk rubbishing the integrity of their families, especially that of their children, for a moment of pleasure. Our society is yet to liberate women to the level of equal rights with men. Thus, no Nigerian woman will be applauded for cheating on her husband socially. To this end, the stigma it attracts is a deterrent. Besides, what a man can do and get away with in Nigeria, a woman cannot try it and get away and this includes being unfaithful in marriage,” said a lady who’s been married for nine years.

“We’ve had instances where women commit adultery with no sense of secrecy but the percentage cannot be said to be as high as claimed by Durex’s survey. We’ve also had women getting pregnant for other men in their husband’s house but yet, the percentage is minute, compared to what obtains in other countries.

If Durex’s claims were true, why do most Nigerian men in diaspora come back home to Nigeria to pick a wife? If you ask them, they will tell you our women are more faithful in marriage than their counterparts abroad. They have lived both in Nigeria and abroad but still prefer our women.

Funny enough, foreigners are not exempted in this search for Nigerian wives. Just last year, a friend’s daughter had an Italian coming to seek her hand in marriage. They both met in Italy but this young man in his early thirties came down here with this girl to marry her traditionally and legally. I learned the man had vowed not to marry from his country because of the high rate of infidelity amongst their women,” argued another woman in her fifties.

We’ve not received reports of threat to Fr Mbaka’s life – POLICE

ENUGU—The Enugu State Police command has refuted claims by Enugu-based Catholic priest who is also the founder of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Rev. Father Camillus Ejike Mbaka, that his life is in danger.

The cleric had alleged that some people were threatening his life after he blasted President Goodluck Jonathan’s government on New Year eve.

He had claimed that Mr. President Jonathan  surrounded himself with very corrupt public officials, hence he turned blind eye to their corrupt activities while millions of Nigerians were suffering daily in abject poverty and endless insecurity.

Mbaka made the declaration while delivering a sermon tagged, “From Good luck to Bad luck” during the end-of-year Adoration mass which held from night till dawn at the Adoration Ground, Emene, Enugu.

But reacting to the cleric alleged threat to his life, Enugu state Police command, dismissed the claims as baseless insisting that ‘if’ Mbaka’s life was in danger, he should have reported to the Police for appropriate action.

Contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu,DSP, said, “We do not have any report by Fr. Mbaka over threat to his life. We have not received any complaint from him.”

Every registered Nigerian must get voter’s card, Jonathan tells Jega -

By President Goodluck Jonathan, Wednesday, charged the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Professor Attahiru Jega to ensure that all eligible Nigerians who registered to vote are provided with their permanent voter’s registration cards.

Speaking while swearing in a new national Commissioner of the commission, representing Oyo state, President Jonathan  said no Nigerian should be disenfranchised because of his inability to get the PVC.

Professor Jega, who was also present at the swearing in of the new commissioner promised that every eligible Nigerian would be provided with a PVC before the  next month’s general elections.

According to President Jonathan the huge interests shown by Nigerians from all walks of life in getting their voter’s card was an indication that confidence is being restored in the electoral process.

“Nigerians are getting worried whether INEC can actually conduct elections because of the PVC. Talking about the PVC, even some governors are complaining that they are yet to get their PVC. If governors are yet to get their voter’s cards, of course that means that so many Nigerians are yet to get and people are a bit worried.

“But to me I’m quite pleased, not pleased in the negative sense, but because of  the awareness that has come on;  that Nigerians want to have their voter’s cards.  In 2011, no Nigerian will complain about voter’s card and that’s why when some politicians talk I just laugh. Before 2011 how many Nigerians complained about not having voter’s card because elections were not conducted with voter’s cards. Nobody cared, we are all adults in Nigeria and we knew what was happening.
